If you have created or deleted many snapshots, you need to defrag snapshots to reclaim free disk space and improve system performance.

You can defrag snapshots in RestoreX360 Windows console or in the pre-OS recovery console.

To defrag snapshots in the Windows console

1. In the Application Console, click on “Tools–>Snapshot Defragmenter”. Click on “Defragment Now” to start defrag. It might take some time to defrag all snapshots (depends on how many snapshots you have and when it was defragged last time).

To defrag snapshots in the pre-OS console

1. Restart computer and press HOME key to enter the pre-OS recovery console,  click on “Tools–>Defrag Snapshots”. It might take some time to defrag all snapshots (depends on how many snapshots you have and when it was defragged last time).

The defrag in the pre-OS console has a more thorough access of the hard disk; therefore, it produces better results than the Windows defrag.
