Fast Recovery Mode
Speed and efficiency, RestoreX360 instant recovery engine gives you the best of both worlds: Fast Recovery Mode and Space Saving Mode. More impressively you can switch between the modes seamlessly.
RestoreX360 will automatically engage the Fast Recovery Mode when you restore a snapshot.
The system will be running in the Fast Recovery Mode until it is switched to the Space Saving Mode.
The installation snapshot cannot be deleted in the Fast Recovery Mode.
Space Saving Mode
For optimum use of system resources, most of time RestoreX360 runs in the Space Saving Mode.
But RestoreX360 will automatically switch to the Fast Recovery Mode when you restore a snapshot.
The system will be running in the Fast Recovery Mode until it is switched to the Space Saving Mode.
You can manually switch RestoreX360 from Fast Restore Mode to Space Saving Mode:
1. In the Application Console, click on “Tools–>Kernel Mode”. Click on “Switch to Space Saving Mode” button. RestoreX360 will take a snapshot of the system, called Safepoint, before switching the kernel mode.
You can also set program settings to automatically switch RestoreX360 from Fast Restore Mode to Space Saving Mode:
1. In the Application Console, click on “Tools–>Kernel Mode”. There you will find two settings for automatically switching Space Saving Mode:
a. Automatically switch to Space Saving Mode if the computer is not restored in X hours.
b. Automatically switch to Space Saving Mode after taking a new snapshot in Windows.
While RestoreX360 is running in the Fast Restore Mode, most of disk IOs are stored in a cache file. When switching to the Space Saving Mode, the cache file needs to be committed to the hard disk. The time it takes to process the cache file (to complete the switch) depends on the amount of data in the cache. It is OK to restart or shutdown the computer while the switch is in progress.
