The hard disk is encrypted, setup cannot continue!

Problem

You get error message “The hard disk is encrypted, setup cannot continue!” during the setup of RestoreX360.

Cause

RestoreX360 cannot be installed on drives encrypted by Windows Bitlocker, because RestoreX360 pre-OS cannot (not supposed to) access encrypted data outside of Windows O.S.
 

Solution

If you are not using Windows Bitlocker encryption or if you are not even aware the drives are encrypted by Bitlocker, Bitlocker on the system  is enabled but not active.

You can disable Bitlocker by runing the following Windows command line switch: manage-bde -off c:
