A snapshot is a MAP (table) of the hard drive’s sector usage information, it is NOT a duplicate copy of the actual files or folders. The ” snapshot map” is stored on the hard drive. it’s hidden and encrypted for security purpose, it exists as raw sectors on the hard drive.
